2/20/11 TCSC HAS A RECORD BREAKING SWIM
What a weekend TCSC had in Clearwater at the Florida Age Group Championships (formerly
known as the Junior Olympics)!! It was one of the fastest age group meets ever with 8 meet records broken (one
by TCSC - totally awesome) and two national age group records broken ( one of the NAG records broken was none other than
Michael Phelps' 13-14 500 free record)
TCSC finished with its highest place of 20th, and is knocking on the door to the top
15.
Some of the swims were off the charts. TCSC opened up with an amazing gold
medal swim by Andrew Wojick (13-14) in the 200 breast. He swam a personal best time of 2:08.89, and broke the
11 year old meet record. Andrew also went on to win the 100 breast with another personal best time, as he broke the
minute barrier for the first time. Awesome Andrew!!
Not to be outdone, Lindsay Barkett (9-10) stepped up to the block and brought
home two gold medals in the 50 and 100 back!! Lindsay also placed 2nd in the 100 IM, & 100 Free and placed 5th in
the 50 & 200 free. With all of those great top 8 swims Lindsay earned a 2nd place highpoint award! Fantastic!
All of her times exceeded the AAAA USA time standards (the highest in USA swimming).

Our top 16 finalists included Jon Hill who had a great 50 breast , he placed 9th (his
final time would have placed him 6th in the final heat), he was also 13th in the 100 breast. Andrew Wojcik was 11th
in the 200 breast & 13th in the 100 breast. With his times he qualified for the Sectional Meet and

TCSC REACHES USA SWIMMING CLUB EXCELLENCE LEVEL
The Treasure Coast Swim Team had its most successful summer since its short begining 4 years ago. TCSC had a National
qualifier, Junior National qualifier, and had 90 % personal best times at its championship meets. With the completion of the
summer season, TCSC has qualified for the Bronze Medal Club Excellence award with USA Swimming. TCSC qualified from its combination
of outstanding swimming performances, adminstration qualifications, and high level coaching. It was quite an accomplishment
toget to Bronze level with such a young team.
TCSC is just now beginning to show the fruits of its labor. With its
excellent training facility at north county aquatic center, the support of the county, its great satellite program at Christi's
Fittness and the strong support of the TCSC parents the future can only get faster!
And faster they did! TCSC qualified
11 swimmers for the Florida Swimming Junior Olympics and 12 swimmers for the Senior Championships. David Humphrey finished
out his summer swimming extremely fast at the Florida Senior Championships in Ft. Pierce. David qualified for Junior Nationals
in the 100 Fly and Short Course Nationals in the 50 free. Both were lifetime best times. Along with David, TCSC had more finalists
at the meet, those included: Jilleen Bray, Rachel Lanam, Sid Golliher, Sorca Jordan, and Sean Ledford. The Senior Team swimmers
weren't the only ones heating up the pool. TCSC's Junior Olympic Swimmers were spectacular as well. TCSC had two of the top
9 year olds in the meet, Lindsay Barkett and Eoghan Jordan. Eoghan placed 8th in the 50 breast. Other finalists included,
Rachel Lanam, Jon Hill, Sorca Jordan and Amanda Brocksmith. The girls 13-14 relay of Jennifer Conway, Sorca Jordan, Amanda
Brocksmith, and Rachel Lanam also placed in the top 16.
Most importantly, all the TCSC swimmers swam personal best
times at their respective championship meets.
The coaches were thrilled to have such a successful season. Directed
by coach Scott Barlow, who has trained an Olympic Gold Medalist and an American record holder states," it's great to take
kids and give them the gift of swimming. Teaching them to work hard toward their goals and seeing them accomplish them is
why I enjoy the sport so much. It doesn't matter if they are getting ready for finals at the Olympic Games, the JO's, or their
first meet, the process they go through to achieve their goals is something they will have for a lifetime."
05/25/09
After hosting their own invitational at the North County Aquatic Center in Sebastian in early May, the Treasure Coast
Swim Team traveled to Ft. Pierce to compete at the Dr. Aspi Memorial Invitational. The Treasure Coast (TCSC) team placed second
overall, their highest place since participating in the meet. For the beginning of the long course season, TCSC turned in
some fantastic swims. The team qualifed more swimmers for the Florida Junior Olympics and Florida Senior Swimming Championships
which will be held in July. "The swimmers are training really hard right now, so to turn in lifetime best times or times around
there is a great sign for the summer season" coach Scott Barlow stated.
TCSC top 8 finalists included: Alexis and
Julia Barth, Emily Blair, Pledger Powell, Alex and Leslie Brocksmith, Jill and Jenifer Conway, Iban Dumas, Jon HIll, Marcello
Duong, Sophia Faust, Marlene Flescher, Sid Golliher, Tim & Micaela Martinelli, and Rachel O'Neal.
TCSC top 3 finalists
included: Lindsay Barkett, Jileen Bray, Amanda Brocksmith, Kolby Golliher, David Humphrey, Orla & Sorca Jordan.
TCSC
First place winners included: Eoghan Jordan, Rachel Lanam, Andrew Wojcik and Sean Ledford.
We have a terrific group
of kids who commit themselves everyday, and its great to see thier dedication pay off. We are loooking forward to a great
summer, as we have a great summer program available to new swimmers and a busy training schedule for our competitive swimmers,
coach Barlow comments.

TCSC has it's best yet short course season including, 2 short course National Qualifiers!
It was quite a milestone for TCSC this season as David Humphrey and Tim Martinelli qualified for the USA Swimming Short
Course Nationals. Tim attended the meet in Atlanta and was able to compete against past and future Olympians!
These swimmers lead the way for an outstanding year. The TCSC high school swimmers swam best times at the end of the
season, state qualifiers included: David, Tim, Brian Knudsen, Pledger Powell, Alexis Barth, Sorca Jordan and Sebastian Sierra.
Our age groupers had some outstanding swims as well. TCSC had two dominating 8 & unders Lindsay Barkett and Eoghan
Jordan. They both made qualifying times for JO's. Swimming strong at the Gator meet our event finalist included
Rachel Lanam, Alexis Barth, Sorca Jordan, Amanda Brocksmith, David Humphrey, Tim Martinelli, Brian Knudsenm Sebastian Sierra,
and Andrew Wojcik. Best times were turned in by Marina Martinelli, Kolby Golliher, Marcello Duong, and Alex Brocksmith.
All of our swimmers really improved overall and are going to be up and coming throughout the spring and following high school
season. We are very proud of our swimmers, they combine hard work, dedication, and class at meets and at practice.
We are looking forward to a SUPER FAST 2009!! GO TCSC!!!

TCSC COMPLETES SUCCESSFUL FALL SEASON
The 2007 Treasure Coast Swimming Team had a lot to cheer about recently. TCSC just completed its fall season, with some
outstanding swims. The team had 14 swimmers qualify for the High School Regional meet, and had 5 swimmers participate at the
State Meet in Orlando. Those swimmers included: Jileen Bray, Sam Long, Brian Knudsen, Tim Martinelli, and David Humphrey.
David Humphrey (junior) placed second in the 100 freestyle and third in the 50 freestyle and qualified for the Spring
Junior Nationals. Sam Long (somphomore) placed 9th in the 100 breastroke and twelth in the 50 freestyle. "Both Sam and David
had some tremendous times, they both trained very hard this year" said Coach Barlow.
Not only did the high school
swimmers enjoy success, the furture of the team also stepped up as they competed at the Gator Swim Club Invitational in Gainesville.
The meet was a qualifiying meet with a lot of fast competition. TCSC qualified the most swimmers it ever has, taking 22 swimmers
to the meet. All of the swimmers had outstanding swims. Coach Barlow states, "It's great to get back to a club meet. The high
school kids train with TCSC but represent other schools, so its great to have them be teammates again. Also, it was wonderful
to have the age groupers and the seniors swim a competition together. The older swimmers got to see the younger swimmers getting
faster and the younger swimmers had a chance to be a part of the seniors success". TCSC had 4 top eight finalists, David Humphrey,
Sorca Jodan, Orla Jordan and Sam Long.
Now its back to training for TCSC as they look forward to the Spring Championship
season. Coach Barlow enjoys the fast swims, but knows its time to get back to work, "we are really looking forward to 2008.
Our future success will come from the day to day hard work. Now we go back and see what we can improve on to get our swimmers
faster so they can compete on that next level."
TCSC has completed its most successful year in its young three year
history. In 2007, TCSC hosted its first major home competition, won its first invitational (the Breakers Invitational in Cocoa
Beach), had a high point award winner ateach of its meets, went to Atlanta for a travel meet, and enjoyed a lot of good times
together as a team.

TCSC SUCCESSFULLY HOSTS FIRST HOME SWIM MEET!!
TCSC did an incredible job hosting its first invitational. It could not have been so successful without all the
help from the parents and community businesses. We thank all of you for your generous support! Congrats to all
of the swimmers who participated. We had many lifetime best times, and great races. With over 50 TCSC participants
it would take a while to point out all of the great achievements, so we would just like to say how proud we are of the team.
All of the swimmers swam and behaved like champions and are on their way to greatness!!! We are looking forward to some
more fast swimming at IRCC! GO TCSC!
2/28/07
TCSC HAS AN ALLSTAR, ADDS TWO SECTIONAL QUALIFIERS, AND HAS TOP 16 FINALISTS AT THE FLORIDA SWIMMING JUNIOR OLYMPICS!!
Congratulations to the TCSC Junior Olympic team! They scored the most points in TCSC JO history!!!
Andrew Wojcik (10) made the Florida Swimming ALL-STAR team. (Florida Swimming will take on Florida Gold Coast
Swimming at the end of March in Indian River County.) Andrew qualified by placing 4th in the 50 free with his personal
best time of 29.2. Fast swimming Andrew! Orla Jordan (9) swam to two best times in the 50 &
100 fly.
The 11-12 girls placed 13th overall in the meet! We had some very strong swims in this age group. Alexis
Barth placed 4th in the 50 & 100 back and qualified for sectionals (quite a feat for a 12 year old!). Equally as
impressive, was Rachel Lanam's meet. She scored in every race she swam which included the 1000, 500, 200, 100, 50 free
and the 50 fly. She swam all but the 1000 free twice, swimming 11 races in four days. Tough swimming Rachel!
Sorca Jordan also had her best JO meet, swimming all lifetime best times and was the second fastest 11 year old in the 50
free!
The 13-14 girls also had a great meet. Jilleen Bray swam a best time in the 1000 free, but blew that race away
with a stunning 1650 free, dropping over 30 seconds. Her outstanding time qualified her for the Sectionals, and placed
her 15th at the meet. Our newest addition to the team, Meleah
Micmillen, had two great freestyle races with LTB's in the 50 and 200. MeLeah also scored in the top 16 in the
100 breast! Awesome swimming TCSC!!
Next stop Ft. Lauderdale for the Southern Sectionals!! GOOD LUCK TCSC!!
02/16/07
TCSC SWIMS FAST INTO 2007!
TCSC's first two meets of the season were a great success with many LTB's, JO cuts, Sectional cuts, and award winning
races! At the IRCC Craige Invitational the Conquistadores conquered many and swam fast!
For the 8 & unders, Eoghan Jordan and Mitchell Lanam bravely swam through the cold and had it pay off with
all LTB's and were part of the first place relay!
The 10 & under's proved to be very tough. Both the 10& under girls(Lily Shelton, Marina Martinelli, Orla
Jordan,& Amanda Brocksmith) and boys ( Iban Dumas, Eoghan Jordan, Mitchell Lanam, & Alex Brocksmith) won
the 200 freestlye relays at IRCC! Amanda Brocksmith hasn't lost a breastroke race in 2007! Alex Brocksmith took home
4 first place finishes at the IRCC meet and had all LTB's! Orla Jordan added another JO cut in 50 fly! Iban Dumas
just missed the JO cut in his LTB 100 fly. Andrew Wojcik lowered his 50 free time (having the flu) and looks to improve
it even more at JO's! Marina Martinelli had an awesome 50 backstroke and 50 fly dropping over 10 seconds! Julia
Barth had to race the boys (after having missed her race) and what a race she had, she beat all the boys and swam
a LTB! Lily Shelton lived up to her Frog name and lowered both of her breastroke times. Sammy Bowman, returning
from pneumonia, raced hard and earned LTB'S in the 100 free and 50 back! Awesome swimming!
The 11-12 girls (Alexis Barth, Rachel Lanam, Jennifer Conway, & Sorca Jordan) also won the 200 free relay with their
best time. Alexis Barth took home wins in the 50 & 100 back and made another JO cut in the 100 IM. Rachel
Lanam also made the JO cut in the 100 IM and took home first place finishes in the 50,100 free & the 50,100 fly.
Jennifer Conway swam 6 LTB's and made an A cut in the 50 free. Sorca Jordan added the 100 fly to her JO cuts, dropping
two seconds. Micaela Martinelli swam a spectacular 100 back with the best streamlining of the day! Adriana Olaya
our 11-12 rookie, swam three terrific races. Adam Lukomski had an outstanding 100 free, crushing his previous personal
best. David Brocksmith had many LTB's, but his 50 free and 50 fly were great drops! Brandon Hill swam his first
100 IM and swam a great race in the 100 free setting his personal best.
The 13-14's also had some awesome swims! Meleah Mcmillen added two JO cuts in the 50 and 200 free. Jileen
Bray showed an outstanding 100 free ( a LTB) and a strong 200 IM. Sarah Eden took 3rd place in her 100 back at
Martin County and swam LTB's in her 200 free and 200 IM at IRCC. Leslie Brocksmith broke out a great 200 breast at IRCC
racing hard wire to wire. Nikki Morris returned with a vengence crushing all of her previous LTB's. Taylor Lukomski,
(after winning the science fair-way to go Taylor) carried on the winning spirit lowering her times in the 200 free and 200
breast. Ilona Gittleman raced hard and turned in her fastest 200 free and 100 breast. Dustin Beller also began
the year with all LTB's. With those LTB's, he placed 4th in the 200 breast and 5th in the 100 breast at Martin county!
Sebastian Sierra, our rookie 13-14 swam like a pro against the IRCC giants.
TCSC's 15 & overs delivered some great swims in season. Buddy Verdeber just missed his sectional cut
in the 100 fly, but swam to a super personal best. Jill Conway swam a smart 200 free winning her heat and setting
a new personal best! Brian Knudsen showed his versatility having had great swims in his 100 fly, 200 IM and 100 breast.
Theo Robinson also had a terrific 200 IM along with a fast 50 free. Sam Long also swam a strong 50 free at Martin County.
Great racing!
Next up, TCSC heads back to the swamp for JO's and then to Ft. Lauderdale for Sectionals! GOOD LUCK TCSC!!

SUMMER TRAINING= BIG RESULTS FOR TCSC SWIMMERS
While some students enjoyed getting a little extra sleep and enjoyed the lazy days of summer, the Treasure Coast Swimming
Team was hard at work. Training at 6 a.m. and returning again 4 p.m., the TCSC swimmers valued the few hours of sleep in between.
The swimmers enjoyed traveling to meets and making new friends along the way. The team competed in meets from Jupiter to Daytona
Beach. All of their dedication and hard work paid off, as the team had its most successful season since its inception last
year. For such a young team, it is quite incredible what they have accomplished. Accomplish they did. David Humphrey,
qualified for the Speedo Southern Zone Sectionals which were held in Ft. Lauderdale. Over 55 teams from all over the eastern
half of the country competed at the meet. David swam all of his lifetime best times and qualified for the finals in the 50
free. He was the fastest 15 yearold in the event (quite a feat as most of the swimmers were of college age). A week later
TCSC had two Junior Olympic Qualifiers EmiLeigh Whitehouse and Rachel Lanam competeat the University of Florida in Gainesville.
Rachel was the 5th fastest 11 year old in the 100 freestyle. Barlow explains"It is very tough to qualify for these higher
level meets, so to have them qualify and swim competively at them is awesome. We have a lot more swimmers on the verge
of breaking through, we are building a solid foundation so that one day we can take our whole team to these meets and compete
for a team title. If they had given out a first place teamtitle at the local Area 6 Championships in Ft. Pierce, TCSC
would have received the trophy. The TCSC swimmers dominated most of the events. Andrew Wojcik, won all 8 of his swimming events.
Other first place finishers included: Rachel Lanam, EmiLeigh Whitehouse, Jillenn Bray, and Theo Robinson. Finishers in the
top 3 included: Alex Brocksmith, Amanda Brocksmith, Orla Jordan, Brian Knudsen, Sorca Jordan, and Leslie Brocksmith.
Also with lifetime best performances at the meet were:Lily Shelton, Adam Lukomski, Ilona Gittleman, Nicole Bolerman, Dustin
Beller, Kyle Barkett, Taylor Lukomski, Sarah Eden, and Michele Coughlin. While the hours and training are tough, the swimmers
reap many rewards beyond the pool. They become part of a great group of kids who hang out together, learn how to manage time,
travel to new places, recieve recognition and really gain great self esteem. Once they overcome an obstacle in swimming they
learn how to do it in life. They are investing in their future, creating a foundation to go on in life and be successful.
Most swimmers will be eligible to receive college scholarships. Making all those trips to swim practice and meets worth while
for the parents! Joining the club program also prepares kids for the high school season. Barlow, also the Sebastian River
High School coach, is very excited for the years to come as his team will grow stronger with each group of swimmers that come
through every year. " If we have 8-13 year olds competing well now, in a few years the high school program will be sure to
be one of the best in the area." Barlow said.

TCSC ENJOYS A PARADE AND BRAVES THE ELEMENTS TO SWIM FAST AT THE IRCC INVITATIONAL FEBRUARY 11-12.
TCSC learned a lot this past weekend. First, that they have such a thing as the cattlemans parade. (We would like
to thank Fred, Michele, and Taylor for their participation on behalf of the team in the parade!) Second, that there
really is a yin and a yang! The yin being the lovely Florida Saturday afternoon with temps in the 70's and a warm breeze
to fill the air. Great conditions for swimming! But then there was the yang, the frigid north air blustering across the
pooldeck. Nice if you want to hit the slopes, but the pool? Our hats off to the swimmers who sacrificed their
bodies to compete and not only swim, but swim fast on Sunday.
It seems that Mr. WOJO had the MOJO at IRCC. Andrew took home three gold medals for the 9-10 boys, and placed 2nd
in his other three events. Great swimming WOJO!
